Deviation Actions
Thank you for all the attention I've received on a few of my deviations over the past month. I don't do it for the views, but it's lovely to see some of my stuff getting noticed. One of them has just gotten over 500 views in the last month, so that's pretty head-swelling to say the least. Not the big leagues, but jeez. I don't even know that many people in real life so it's very ego-inflating.
I'm super excited for this Sailor Moon revamp, hence why I've been doing a lot more fan art from that fandom. I hope to be posting quite a bit over the next few weeks, including doing a painting from the Nehelenia lines, so yeah, expect some progress on that soon. Also, I've got this little SokkaXToph thing in mind, but I'm not sure just yet on the composition for it. It is (hopefully) gonna be very sweet. Plus, I may come up with a few more sketches and stuff, just random ones. Either way, I've got a month before anything really important is happening at uni, so you should expect quite a few posts.
I went to Supanova for the first time on the weekend... wow! It was so packed, and the costumes were AMAZING! There was this one Superman cosplayer... omg he was so hot, lol. But yeah, some people went all out. I didn't get any decent photos for myself of my Sokka costume (which I made in one day, without a sewing machine), but I hope to get some soonish so I might post those. Catching the train there in costume was a bit of a headspin because people did point and shout out to me, was kinda cool being asked to take some photos with strangers lol. Very ego-inflating. I'm definitely going back next year, maybe as Kryten from Red Dwarf or Sailor Pluto or something, just cos they'd both be pretty enjoyable and challenging to do. Just making a mask for Kryten, I have no idea how I'll manage it if I do go as him. I may even go as the Cat, if I can find the right earrings and wig before then, but I've got year or so, so I'm not too stressed. I'll hopefully have a sewing machine before then, or at least a mannequin so I don't have to keep drafting my own patterns so haphazardly.
Oh, and I met DestinyBlue! She was so sweet, it honestly made my birthday so much better to be able to buy prints in person. She even hugged me, lol.
Oh, also, to those who did, thank you for wishing me a happy birthday. I had a great day.
YAY!
No big news or anything...
But I just hit 3000 views. Yay! I don't actually care too much (if I let myself care I get nervous and egotistical - in short, unproductive and boring).
But also: today I had to register all my tutes for uni. It is, perhaps excepting the end of the semester exam session, the MOST stressful bi-annual event for uni attendees. Basically, thousands of people crowd a tiny server for all of about ten minutes in order to try and force the system to give them the lecture and tutorial times they want. If you're underprepared and have a bad internet connection, you're pretty well f***ed. However, after much stress and heart
Random features and life...
So... I go back to school in the next few weeks... :(
Means I have to got hrough the hell that is tutorial registration. Basically, imagine a tiny server, then imagine thousands of university student who flood that server for half an hour of stress and chaos in which people end up with what they need but not the times they want them. Tutorial registration - how you make me cry!!!!
Okays... so I've decided to do this thing on a Saturday where I'll post a journal featuring random deviations I've enjoyed from that week, a sort of Spotlight Saturday, if you will. It means that even if I post nothing else journal-wise for a month, you'll still h
Art Love!! Features Galore
Time to grope people's art!
The Rules:
* The first 10 people commenting this journal get a feature and the three deviations I like most from their gallery will be put on the list below!
* If you comment, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger (me) on the first place.
* The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!
1. The-Troglodyte (https://www.deviantart.com/the-troglodyte) (who I nicked this from and was pretty much one of the reasons I started arting)
So yeah.. comment and you'll get a feature. 10 slots only though, I'll update as people comment!
